Sweet and spicy chicken

Mmmm, this time chicken a little different. Sweet and spicy pieces of chicken, with that delicious sticky texture! The secret? Honey! Actually creamy honey with chili. Sweet, sticky, but crispy at the same time. A wonderful combination for lovers of one, the other or both.

Ingredients for the chicken:

  • 4x200 g chicken breasts
  • 100 g flour
  • 50 g starch
  • 1 heaped tsp garlic powder
  • 1 pinch paprika powder
  • Salt and pepper

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • 70g Melissé creamy honey with chili
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  1. We start preparing the chicken; dry it with a paper towel, season with salt and pepper, and cut it into pieces of any size.
  2. Mix all the other ingredients in a bowl and add the chicken. Mix until the flour coats it on all sides.
  3. Heat a sufficient amount of oil in a pot. Before adding the chicken to the oil, shake off any excess flour and carefully place it in the hot oil.
  4. Fry it for a few minutes, depending on the size of the meat. Then place it on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
  5. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a pan. When it boils, add the chicken and just give it a quick stir.
  6. Before serving, sprinkle with spring onion rings and sesame seeds.
  7. Served with potatoes, rice, vegetables...

Tip: Instead of chicken breasts, you can use any part of the chicken, but adjust the frying time. Leftovers can be kept in the refrigerator for 2-3 days, or served cold.
