Who is Čili frik?
Behind the brand is Matic Vizjak, whose friends started calling him "Čili frik" years ago because of his love of spicy food. What began as an interest in different chilli varieties, exploring flavours and discovering new combinations gradually grew into something much bigger over the course of an eventful life.
Čili frik was never meant to be just another hot sauce on the shelf. Its story stretches from the family farm, through countless ideas, experiments and challenges, to international collaborations and products that now have a story of their own.
What makes Čili frik different from other hot sauces?
Flavour and quality always come first. Our products contain no GMOs, added sugar, gluten or vinegar. Leaving out vinegar gives our sauces a more distinctive flavour, allowing the other carefully selected ingredients to shine through. They are sweetened exclusively with honey from our own Vizjak Farm.
Today, our products can be found in many restaurants and on shop shelves. They have won several international awards and reach customers beyond Slovenia. Our internationally award-winning products have received recognition for the best BBQ sauce in the USA in 2025 and an award for the best truffle sauce in Germany that same year.
