The honey is made with home-grown Šmarje goji berries grown on our farm. The fruits are slowly dried for 12-14 days at a mild temperature in our bread oven.

Honey with goji berries is particularly suitable as a healthy spread on bread due to its creamy and thick texture, but it can also be used as a sweetener for tea or a rich addition to pastries.

We advise you to Do not heat or add to liquids above 38 degrees, as this destroys some of the active ingredients.

It is still a relatively rare phenomenon on the market, as the product requires a good amount of time and knowledge. It also requires a specific manufacturing process and a suitable machine. The special color and structure are simply the result of physical forces that are created during the process itself. While stirring the honey, the sugar crystals rub against each other, thereby brightening the color and thickening the structure.

It is most often purchased by young families who want to get their little ones used to a Slovenian breakfast at home, as there is no mess involved, and of course, children also love it.

Honey is still completely natural, not thermally processed, nothing has been taken away or added to it.

Growing the plant is very simple and undemanding. We grow it in an open sunny position, but you can also plant it in a larger pot.

You can prune it as a shrub, tree or climber. The plant is very resistant to frost and drought. In winter, it can withstand temperatures down to -20° C. It is worth noting that it grows very vigorously (up to 2.5 meters and more per year), so we always prune it heavily in the spring and make cuttings from the cut parts, which you can also get from us by arrangement. The plant blooms with purple flowers and bears characteristic red fruits from July to September. The plant usually bears fruit at 2-3 years old. We have given it a sunny location and we water it additionally during dry periods. This way, we get an abundance of fruits in late autumn.
